ESCS's 2011 celebration of Handel's Messiah at Fairhope's Trinity Presbyterian Church will be participatory. Singers of all ages, Messiah fans, and all who wish to experience a beautiful musical setting
of prophecy and nativity narratives about the coming of the Messiah from the Old and New Testament texts of the King James
Bible and from the book of Psalms in the Great Bible are invited to take part. We will join together
in singing selections from Part I which tells the Advent and Christmas stories. Narration and highlights on the
creation and history of this choral masterwork, the world's most-performed oratio since its 1742 premiere and the most
famous one ever written, will be interwoven throughout. The "Messiah Sing"
will conclude with the HALLELUJAH Chorus from Part II. Copies of the music will be available. Dress
will be casual.
